The Start of Our Journey in Rome

This adventure kicked off in the beautiful city of Rome, Italy in 2016, where we played at a stunning wedding at the American Academy. Just down the road, David Gilmore from Pink Floyd was also playing and we believe we played Another Brick in the Wall at the same time as he did! The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with joy, laughter, and love. After celebrating couple and their guests, we knew we had to gear up for a serious travel challenge that lay ahead.

Hit the Road Boyz: 22 Hours of Travel

With only three days to get to the next wedding in Malaga, Spain, we hopped into our comfortable Mercedes Viano and began the lengthy trek. You do the math—22 hours on the road, and that's not counting stops! Normally, long drives can feel tedious, but we made it an adventure in itself. With snacks packed, playlists ready, and an endless supply of caffeine, we set our sights on Malaga, the land of sunshine and wedding festivities.

Comfort on the Road

Now, let’s talk about that Mercedes Viano. Oh, how it cradled us through those long stretches of highway! It was a spacious and comfortable ride, and honestly, that's what got us through the endless hours. Even with the plush seating and smooth ride, it was still a marathon of travel. We discovered that no amount of comfort could fully prepare us for the determination it would take to get to the next gig!

During our trip, we made occasional stops to stretch our legs and indulge in local cuisine. Each break was a mini adventure, offering a taste of the culture along our route. From roadside cafes serving delicious pastries to charming towns where we could grab a quick coffee, these pit stops made all the difference in breaking up the drive.

As we drove through picturesque countryside and bustling cities, we actually started to enjoy the journey. The landscapes changed dramatically, from the rolling hills of Italy to the breathtaking coasts of Spain. It almost felt like a surreal transition as we traveled from the first wedding location to the next.

Arriving in Malaga was like stepping into a postcard. The vibrant colors and warm sun welcomed us and promised a fantastic wedding experience. Although the journey was a tough one, every mile traveled was worth it for the celebration that awaited. The memories of Rome stayed with us as we set up the gear and performed our sound)check in an equally beautiful Spanish setting.

In the end, our longest trip between weddings was filled with laughter, adventure, and an appreciation for the scenic routes of Europe. It’s crazy to think that what started as a grueling travel schedule transformed into an unforgettable trip filled with unexpected joys. Here’s to more adventures ahead, one wedding at a time!
